Mark Zuckerberg Is Second Person To Reach 1 Million Followers On Threads

The latest social media app, Threads – a text-based conversation tool to rival Twitter – went live on 5 July. Mark Zuckerberg became Second Person To Reach 1 Million Followers On Threads.

The first person to reach this milestone is MrBeast. It took the YouTuber, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, just a matter of hours to claim the milestone.

However technically his wasn’t the first account to reach the number, the others belonged to organizations like Instagram and National Geographic.

MrBeast wrote his first post, “Soooooo, how long until we’re also addicted to this app? Lol”.

MrBeast’s bio on Threads reads: “Future Threads CEO”, and he earned a following of 1 million after posting just three times.

His second post was “Like this if @zuck should make me CEO”. And he got more than 1 lakh likes within hours.

MrBeast’s third post was a cheeky one as he wrote, “I feel like I’m cheating on Twitter by using this app”.

And this feat is officially a ‘World Record’. Guinness World Records tweeted,

The moment @mrbeast reached one million followers on Threads…

(yes, this is how we monitored the record)

(and yes, it drained the battery from our phone a lot)”

On the app, people can post text and links and reply to or repost messages from others. It will also let users port over their existing follower lists and account names from Instagram. The application’s description reads, “Threads is where communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what’ll be trending tomorrow. Whatever it is you’re interested in, you can follow and connect directly with your favourite creators and others who love the same things – or build a loyal following to share your ideas, opinions and creativity with the world.”
