Gadar 2: The Katha Continues is all set to break a new record in the box office collection as it may touch the magical 500 Cr number by the third week itself and there is a very high probability that it will emerge as the highest grosser Hindi of all time.
Despite release of Dream Girl 2, Gadar 2 has not lost its sheen and it was, in fact, a very good Friday as the film saw minimal drop coming its way. On Thursday the film had done the business of 8.40 crores and Friday it inches very less to settled at 7.10 crores, which is quite impressive.
A drop from Thursday to Friday business was inevitable. Furthermore, the release of Dream Girl 2, which had a successful opening, coincided with this drop. Despite these factors, if Gadar 2 managed to initiate with such a strong start, it’s quite evident that it has garnered significant attention and interest.
Certainly, observing the competition between Gadar 2 and Dream Girl 2 over the weekend will be captivating. There’s a high likelihood that Gadar 2 might outperform in terms of collections from single-screen theaters.
This is the domain where mass masala films flourish over the weekend, and Gadar 2 is poised to remain the preferred choice. It’s almost guaranteed that the film’s earnings will reach a double-digit figure today, and if it experiences a growth pattern similar to last week, it might even surpass Dream Girl 2’s earnings by the end of the day.
The film’s impressive retention suggests that it’s now in the running to join the coveted 500 Crore Club. Achieving this milestone is the initial objective before contemplating the lifetime earnings of blockbusters like Baahubali: The Conclusion and Pathaan. With the current earnings standing (by third Friday) at 426.20 crores, the film is certainly on track to surpass 450 crores by the conclusion of this weekend.
On completion of its second week, Gadar 2 amassed the cumulative total to approximately Rs 419.10 crore. The movie’s aspirations encompass surpassing Pathaan’s Hindi nett Box Office collection over its entire theatrical run. Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, had accrued Rs 524.53 crore nett from its Hindi version alone. To attain this feat, Gadar 2 needs to outperform the Hindi version of KGF 2, which amassed Rs 435.33 crore nett, as well as surpass Baahubali 2’s impressive Rs 510.99 crore nett earnings. But the trends are confirming one thing for sure, Gadar 2 is ready to enter 500 Cr club.
