Rapido, India’s leading commute app, has entered into a partnership with National Capital Region Transport Corporation Ltd. (NCRTC) to offer feeder services for Namo Bharat train passengers at Sahibabad and Ghaziabad stations along the operational 17 km section of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS (Regional Rapid Transit System).

Over 300+ number of Rapido bike taxi, autos and cab captains will be operating from the dedicated pick-up and drop-off points that Rapido has been permitted to establish at the Ghaziabad and Sahibabad stations.

Currently, recording a total of 15,000+ riders per day, the RRTS train operated by NCRTC is expected to witness an upsurge of 100,000+ daily commuters with the opening of new stations in the next few months. This creates an immense opportunity for Rapido to extend its bike taxi, auto, and cab hailing services and provide affordable last mile connectivity solutions for the growing number of commuters using the RRTS network. The dedicated pick-up and drop-off points will further ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for commuters, augmenting the appeal of the RRTS as a preferred mode of transportation in the NCR.

Mr. Samir Sharma, Multimodal Integration Expert – NCRTC, said, “The partnership with Rapido aligns with our mission to facilitate seamless transport solutions for commuters in the NCR. By integrating Rapido’s services into our transit framework, we anticipate a significant enhancement in user accessibility. This will help us go a step further in having an environmentally conscious approach while redefining the mobility infrastructure of the region. Underscoring our commitment to innovation and development, we aim to constantly work towards creating a connected, efficient, and sustainable transportation network that meets the evolving needs of the community.”

Commenting on this collaboration, Pavan Guntupalli, Co-founder of Rapido, said, “The collaboration with NRCTC marks a significant step in Rapido’s consistent efforts towards leveraging existing infrastructure to resolve the challenges of last mile connectivity and ensure traffic decongestion by offering seamless commute solutions. With Rapido’s affordable and efficient ride hailing services, commuters can effectively navigate to and from the dedicated RRTS stations of Sahibabad and Ghaziabad. With the expansion of the RRTS network, we look forward to contributing to establishing a more integrated and sustainable mobility ecosystem in the NCR, where commuters have access to affordable and efficient modes of transport catering to their unique needs.

Having recently reached the milestone of completing 100+ Crore rides through their cab, auto, and bike services across 120 cities, Rapido has emerged as a platform empowering gig workers, enhancing accessibility and contributing to the nation’s progress through innovative mobility solutions.
