The Indian Commercial Vehicle sector is very swiftly adopting international standards towards sustainability, SIAM President Vinod Aggarwal said on Thursday.
Aggarwal, who is also the MD & CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd, made the remarks at the second edition of the CII Indian Commercial Vehicle (CV) Conclave held here on Thursday.
“The Indian Commercial Vehicle sector is very swiftly adopting international standards towards sustainability, including the use of alternate fuels, increased focus on safety standards, and modernisation in terms of driver comfort, vehicle connectedness, etc,” he said.
According to Deepak Jain, Chairman at CII Northern Region and CMD of Lumax Industries Ltd, the government initiatives, such as Make in India and BS-VI emission norms, among others, have collectively stimulated manufacturing, sales and the usage of commercial vehicles in the country.
The conclave also saw the participation of industry leaders who spoke on the transformative mega trends shaping the Indian CV sector.
