According to 2019 data, India’s per capita energy consumption stands at 0.6 tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), compared to the global per capita average of 1.8 toe. In Indian households, energy-consuming appliances like fans, refrigerators, ACs, microwaves, and lighting contribute significantly to overall consumption. Our focus is on addressing these unsustainable consumption patterns across various sectors and promoting sustainable practices through collaborative community efforts.

In a dedicated effort to empower women and young girls, Consumer VOICE organized a transformative workshop at Sanjay Enclave, New Delhi, on October 7th, as part of Green Action Week. Specifically designed for women and young girls, the event aimed to raise awareness about energy conservation, highlighting the importance of community sharing and providing practical tools for impactful change.
In collaboration with Vrikshit Foundation, another workshop was held at their library in Rohini, New Delhi, on September 23, 2023. This workshop centered on engaging students in understanding the significance of energy efficiency practices, instilling a sense of responsibility for sustainable energy use, and promoting a reduction in unsustainable consumption patterns.
