Indus Towers, one of India’s leading telecom infrastructure providers, proudly highlighted the digital transformation journey of marginalized community through its Digital Transformation Van (DTV) initiative in Chhattisgarh. With more than 50% participation from girls beneficiaries, this program has advanced digital literacy in the region, with an emphasis on providing digital knowledge to the people from Jajawal, Anjani and Gorgi villages of Surajpur. The DTV was visited by Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, along with Shri Rohit Vyas, IAS, Collector, Surajpur (CG).
Part of the company’s CSR program ‘Saksham’, the DTV is a 21-seater, solar powered vehicle with internet, latest computers, printers, software and e-learning tools and has live-monitoring features to provide doorstep digital education with certification in basic IT education, cyber security, Internet of Things, and financial literacy. The same van is also used for tailored community awareness sessions and mass literacy. The program is implemented by NIIT Foundation.

A tour inside the DTV was organized for the Hon’ble Minister and Collector, where they engaged with the beneficiaries, listening to their experiences and witnessing firsthand the digital transformative impact of the initiative.
In total, the program has empowered almost 4,000 beneficiaries across the three villages, equipping them with essential digital skills and awareness. In the coming days, the DTV will visit 12 villages across Chhattisgarh.

Launched in 2018, Indus Tower’s DTV has so far travelled to various communities/villages in and around Delhi, Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) and Surajpur (Chhattisgarh). The program will impart digital literacy to community members from diverse backgrounds above the age of 12. This includes schoolchildren, women, self-help groups, homemakers, entry-level employees working in firms, farmers, and adults.
