New Zealand left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel became only the third bowler in the entire history of Cricket who took 10 wickets in a Test match inning. Only Jim Laker and Anil Kumble have done this before. England’s Jim Laker took 10 wickets against Australia at Manchester on 26 July 1956. Whereas, Indian legend spinner the great Anil Kumble took 10 wickets against Pakistan at Delhi on 4th February 1999. Now, Ajaz Patel has taken 10 Indian wickets that too in India. That’s a commendable feat.
Just for the record, Jim Laker bowled 51.2 overs and spent 53 runs to grab those 10 wickets, Anil Kumble bowled just 26.3 overs and spent 74 runs for those wickets. Whereas, Ajaz Patel bowled 47.5 overs and spent 119 runs. However, these are irrelevant because scoring a perfect 10 is one of the rarest events in Cricket history.
Anil Kumble has welcomed Ajaz Patel into the unique club. He tweeted
Welcome to the club #AjazPatel #Perfect10 Well bowled! A special effort to achieve it on Day1 & 2 of a test match. #INDvzNZ

The legendary Indian spinner Anil Kumble specially mentioned that achieving this feat on day1 and 2 of a test match by a spinner makes it extra special.
