Samir K.Modi an existing board member of a public limited company Godrey Philips India (GPI), was injured yesterday. A despicable incident that has caused significant harm to him ( 30th May at 12:15 pm). During the board meeting, he was subjected to physical abuse and was stopped at the entrance of the gate of the board meeting and was manhandled resulting in his index finger breaking. Despite this provocation, he remained calm and composed, choosing not to retaliate. His mother Dr. Bina Modi finally took him in as there was a lot of commotion and noise. None of the board members said anything.
He endured the pain for two hours before seeking medical attention, and has since filed a medical legal complaint.

He is committed to handling this matter in the appropriate manner to ensure that the truth is revealed and justice is served. This is unacceptable and is a case of a board member being blatantly abused. Where is the corporate governance, none of the board members said anything. This is the age of hooliganism that we live in. He has had to undergo surgery at Apollo Hospital wherein a plate and screws had to be put in his hand and finger. He has filed a complaint at the Sarita Vihar Police Station
